Wow...Its been 11 months since my last entry!!!

I guess I'll start with....her father is gettingbetter atbeing there for her. And your right--it's not just about the money for me; and no I don't think he's an a-hole. She wants his attention and he's getting better. Other than that, I think I'm in a long-distance relationship with a friend I recently reconnected with. It's been a long time since I've felt this good. I can't wait for my daughter to meet him and his daughter. He is a single father, raising his 10 y.o. daughter. I like the fact that we are getting re-familiar with each other first!!! I do have some reservations but my happiness is long overdue. We'll see how this thing goes. Oh...and he loves the Lord as much as I do.....(and that is a major plus for me).

New Year 2010!!

Well I need to try to post way more often. Well...it's a new beginning! Tracee didn't go to Mid Winter Recess (in Dallas, Tx) as her father did not come thru and he promised. As a matter fact, no one has heard from him since he promised the money by Dec. 15th (2009); it's now Jan 5th, and he has contact her at all...NOTHING! He's a piece of work!!

Merry Christmas To All!!!!!

It is 8:00 a.m. on the nose! Of course, Tracee is still sleeping. She is going to Washington, DC today with the church. I along with Mikki and Mom set money aside so Tracee would have some spending money; they will be in D.C. untl the 30th (mom's B-day). Everybody else isn't leaving until tomorrow, but Rennat, Dorothy, and Tracee are leaving out today (tickets were much cheaper if they flew out today). So, their flight is at 2:16 p.m., which means I have to have her out to the airport at noon. I will sit and wait with them while they wait for their flight, then I will make my rounds to everybody's houses. Other than that, and the fact that it's our heavenly father's birthday, today is just another date on the calendar for me! I stopped getting excited about this day over 20 something years ago. But I do enjoy when families come together. I will most like be stoppingover on Beecher St, Hartson Aveand two spots on MidlandAve before I make it back home. And before I close this I have to remember for next year thatX-mas Eve is Ramsi's b-day. Moe should be delivering her baby girl any day now--she was looking mighty uncomfortable yesterday. Well, I am going to go give dad a call, and then I dread the call to Mikki's house (Vernell will no doubt answer the phone....ugh!!) Just kidding Vee!!!

Wow...been a really long time!

Its been almost a year since I last posted here. I have been really busy, concentrating on my classes! But, I am done now!!!!!! I graduate tomorrow!!!! Really excited about that and hope to find work fairly soon.

Other than that....awful lot has happened that I would like to document here, like....history has been made! We now have our first African American President, Barack Obama!! Pastor is working on getting my daughter's school to include her in on the trip with the chorus to the inauguration in D.C., January 20th, 2009. It's a big deal and he wants her to experience this historical event.

A couple of other things have happened which I will not mention because it has come to my attention that certain people are reading my journal....and they don't need to know anything about some things!

Oh yeah, I have, since the last time I posted, Mikki and Vernell got marriedon May 17th, the wedding itself turned out nice, yet prior to the wedding, of course there was some DRA-MA!!Sis. Cynthia S. moved over to become thePresident of the Senior Ushers, and referred me,and I havebeen appointed as Junior Usher Advisor atthe church (myself and Donna C.) Our Pastoralso requested andappointed me as Class Leader #11 for New Members....wow! It's all good though because...it's time! It's time thatI have a relationship with God, and not just be "a member" of the church. To be honest, I am struggling a little with it because it is so easy to slip back into those old ways. Also, Sis. Jackie Y., who is thePastor'sassistant (right-hand person)is looking for assistance with her work in the church, as she is very overloaded, and maybe looking for me to assist her; Assistant to the Assistant!! Anyway.....

Other than that, I a really working on making some changes for myself and my daughter....and hopefully great things are in store for us both in the near future.

The trip to VA was nice. We left last Saturday morning about 4:30 am and arrived at my sister's at 2:30. We could have been there by 2:00 had it not been for the traffic on Military Hwy. Anyway, we chilled there for a couple of hours, waiting for my sister. But we ended up leaving before she got home, and we went to my sister-in-law's where we stayed for the duration. As soon as we got there, we were in the pool. Then everybody started arriving a little while later. My sister- in-law had food on the grill on the patio!!! My nephew and his girlfriend showed up first. Then my sister and her "fiance". Then my cousin and her son, and others were in and out all night. Of course the adults got lit with the exception of one or two, so that they could stay sobber to watch the kids in the pool and to be able to drive home. Then the next day (Sunday) we had the cookout to honor my nephew who was graduating on Wednesday. Nephew was happy, as he collected cash, a laptop, and later a truck from his grandfather! Now he just has to actually get his license and some insurance. Everybody stayed sober at this picnic, of course (no drinking goin on at all). It was actually chilly out that day. Monday and Tuesday were decent days. But we could not swim in the pool as my sister-n-law had put more chemical into the pool on Sunday at some point, and turned the pump back on and it was not operating. So she called the pool guy, who never showed up until Wednesday at 5:00 pm, just before we were leaving to go to my nephew's graduation. The graduation ceremony was held outside in a nice arena, but it was cold as hell because it was by the water. The next few days it remained chilly as it rained off and on. We never got to swim again untilon Saturday (before we left on Sunday). My daughter was not happy about that for sure. But in all, we had a nice visit with my sisters. Only one little flare-up (drama) but I won't go into that.

Drunk Ass Got Left Behind!!

Now after leaving our house, my cousin went to stay at his son's apartment until the end of the week when he was to leave with his wife for Indiana. Now that was only like 5 days away. Okay, from the time he left my house on Sunday to like Thursday evening, he screwed up yet again (turning up MIA and his wife out looking for him andwhatnot). Now she's pissed AGAIN!! Thursday evening she drops off his leather duffle bag, and told my daughter that he would be by to get it. That right there told me something was up because I knew"they" were supposed to be leaving for Indiana the next day, so why is she dropping his shit off at ourhouse. THEN....I woke up mid-early morning to use the bathroom, and then decide to read my book. This is about 3:45 am Friday. I heard a car pull up in front of the house. Me being"the neighborhood watchperson"looks out the window and I see a dark car, lights are off but car is running. Then I notice someone walking out of our driveway back to the car. But I can't tell who it is. And they get in the car and drive off, never turning on any lights until they weredown the street almost to the corner. The next morning my daughter finds his wallet with his license and pictures and stuff on the front porch. So that was his wife thatpulled up this morning infront of the house. So about 9:30--10:00 am Friday morning, I call the wife's cell to ask her what's going on....why is she dropping off his stuff like that, aren't they leaving for Indiana or not? And that's when she tells me after a few minutes that....she's already left for Indiana (she was on the road at that time), and she left his ass, which he did not know at the time that she was already gone. So basically, he was going to be calling me at some point about his things sheleft with us. So, I'm thinking...Good for her!! Later on, his phone calls start coming in asking us to call her, findout where she is because he waiting for her to come get him, he's got to get hisstuff out of the storage andsoforth. I played dumb and said, alright I'll call her and tell her tocall him. When he finally finds out she already is gone, he's calling my mother crying and saying she did him dirty, he's so hurt, he can't believe she did this to him. What an idiot...he's the onethat screwed that up. I guess he went to go get one more piece of ass fromwhoever it is he was with that night and she found out. Ohhhh well. Now his son has to deal with him.

Aww Maan!! The funk coming out of that room in the morning when he opens the bedroom door (and leaves it open) is HORRIBLE!!! Every time he comes out he leaves the door wide open, and I go right behind him and close it. He has to notice that the door is closed again when he comes back!! I'm hoping he will get the hint....but he doesn't. Then I go and light an incent in the hallway....he still don't get it! Then I notice that he'sdressed and out the door with clean clothes on, and I never ever heard any water running in the bathroom!! Now, he was out yesterday mowing lawns and it was hot as hell yesterday. Never hear him in the bathroom brushing his teeth!! Dayum, and this dude has a wife too.

Can you believe this idiot was fired from his job (a temp job, might I add) after just 2 weeks!! I noticed that he was not getting up to go to work. And he started acting as if he was sick and shit. I guess he was trying to set up his excuse for being fired. I asked him last night "whats up, how come he's not going to work". His reply was, "Man, forget that lady. I called her last night and she hasn't called me back". Yeah, that's because she told him, I am sure, that he don't need to bother coming any more. He wason the jobonly two weeks and he already called in 2 nights. And I am sure they didn't appreciate the fact that he reeks of beer. All I have to do is let him keep talking and he will tell on himself, because he made a statement that he's going to stop buying beer all the time, which tells me that was probably "one" of the problems they had with him. All that flappin his gums he did about "how he was in charge of 14 machines" (because he was supposedly the only one that knows how to run the machines), and all that BS! The way he was talkin I thought he had a permanent position, and come to find out it was just a temp job which he had just started right before he came to stay at my house. I know one thing, his ass better have a job right quick, or he has to go....I ain't putting with no grown ass man that is married, and sees his wife on a regular, can't make a move without her, in my house without no job! I ain't havin that shit.

Anyway, It is a pain in the ass to have him in the house with us. He talks all the time, constantly about his job. He is one of those people who talk like "they are the most important personat his job". Like the job would never survive without him!! He works for a company that makes plastic tops for a lot of the items you buy in the grocery stores!! SO WHAT!! Give me a damn break. He has no GED!!! So SHUT UP ABOUT YOUR JOB!! Then he one day had the audacity to say (because he constantly sees me buried in my books, doing my homework, or trying to do homework) that he was thinking about going to ITT Tech (where I attend school)!! R-O-F-L-M-A-O. That shit would "NEVER" happen. He wouldn't even pass the pre-test they give you. Some people just don't know when to shut up...ya know what I mean. Going to ITT Tech is no joke....it takes a whole lot of "self-discipline" and "common sense" just like any other college. OMG, this is going to be a looooonnnng two months!!

I must of made an entry in my other journal the other day about my cousin that I let move in for a little while. Well....HE IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!! I knew I was going to regret this. Dayum! He is funking up my house. I literally have to lite inscents, spray air freshner, open windows, and close the door to the room he is sleeping in!! This is no exaggeration. This is mainly due to his breathe. His sister and brother, they all have this problem. At night, when they sleep with their mouth wide open, they funk the entire room up. Then he gets up and opens the door and leaves it wide open, and the funk spreads to the hallway. I'm really trying to be patient, but I feel like I am going to snap very soon. But I need him around until the end of June because while I go out of town for my nephew's graduation, he is supposed to take care of my dog for me! Which it seems he will do fine with that, because he walks my dog faithfully every day for me, so I am grateful for that. So, you see my dilema?! I am also trying to be more patient with him because way back in the day, about 24 years ago when I was 18 y.o., his mother (my aunt) helped me out and let me stay with her (because I could not live another day inthehouse with my father). Difference being, I was not a problem for them at all.....I actually improved their home environment because I actually cleaned up their house. Kept the bathroom cleaned, as well as the kitchen, and livingroom areas. You know shit had to be bad at my house for me to move in with them and they kept a nasty house!!!

Oh, by the way, my doctor has scheduled me for surgery on July 31st (common female stuff--no big deal). But I will be out of commission for 6 weeks, which is a problem because of my classes. Missing just one day of class sets you back a lot! So Im not sure how that is going to work out. Im going to have to talk with the dean to see what I can do. I think though I am really only going to be out for just 2 weeks. My doctor says I can't drive to 2 weeks.....he doesn't have to know I went back to school before the 6th week.

My cousin moved in for a couple of months only (hopefully)!! He is a couple of years older than me. He was staying with some chick but they started having problems; his wife lives in the suburbs with some people she goes to church with, so he couldn't move in with her. So I'm stuck with him for now (until mom gets back from VA). He works nights--so that part is good. He is usually asleep for the most while me and my daughter are awake, but not always. He is driving me crazy because when he is awake he talks constantly, calls my name constantly, and his entire conversation is about his job. I am sick of hearing about his job. He drinks beer regularly, and the smell is coming out of his pores....Yuck! His wife calls all the time checking up on him; and when she is not calling, she is here at the house. He leaves the toilet seat up!!!!! And you know how that drives nuts. The end of June can not get here quick enough for me. The only good thing about this situation is that...at least he buys his own food (and plenty of it), and he has kept his agreement so far to pay me money each week to stay here, and he walks the dog for me often. I just wish he didn't drink beer so much, and he would shut up about his job, and he would put the toilet seat down. Okay, I'm done venting for now.

It is now over a month since our brother passed away. It is so hard to believe he is gone...but he is! Today I will be ordering the headstone for his grave (which is a couple of feet from our sister, Toni).
Dee, we will never forget how much you have touched our lives (your nephew & niece especially). Your "big ole smile" is embedded in our memory forever! We will see you, Toni, Grandma Emily and Grandma Lela soon.....R.I.P.

My dad called me this morning at 10:00 or so. My brother stopped breathing at 9:45 am. Everybody was there with him when he slipped away into his new life. My mom said she will never forget that moment...it will forever play in her memory. We all miss him so much already. One of his best friends informed us today that he is expecting a son in a few months, and he wants to give him my brother's name (Dyrol) which is a unique name. We are sooo flattered by that!

    TRACE's Interests:

About Me: Myself and my brother were both born in Los Angeles and Compton, but raised in New York. Both my sisters were born here in New York. I have a 14 y.o. daughter, soon to be 15, born 1 day b4 my b-day & we share the same name but spelt differently; we are 30 years apart in age!! I am not with her father, but we "try" to be civil. I am graduating this Saturday from ITT Tech; getting my 2nd Associates Degree. And I am now considering taking an online course to get a bachelor's degree in Construction Management. I have a sister that lives in VA, and I recently lost my brother to cancer. He was 11 months older than me. I lost an older sister back in 1977 to kidney disease (she was 17 when she passed); 11 months before that we lost our dearest grandmother very tragically. My dad lives in VA, and I live in NY with my mom, as I have to keep an eye on her. she is getting up there in age--driving me nuts....Lol. I like a little innocent gossip every now & again...but you didn't hear that from me!! And I am very opinionated and trying to learn to control that...Lol...I'm laughin cause...it ain't workin out! As you can tell...I like a good laugh but I know how and when to be serious. I am so serious when it comes to my daughter & two nephews. I am a strong woman (very thick skin) but can be sensitive at times. My most embarrassing moment: I'll just say...putting my foot in my mouth (done that a couple of times). Remember I am opinionated!! I really have to concentrate on learning that less is best! People I miss dearly: Toni & Dee, Grandma Emily & Grandma Lela; my girl cousins that always looked out fo' me--Lisa, Gail, Natalie...and so many more family members...R.I.P. yall. There is one other person I miss with all my heart....but I refuse to speak on it!!!! That is my story and I am sticking to it....LOL!

Interests: I like to go see a good movie, take my daughter out and treat her to lunch or dinner, or a little shopping spree when I can. I like to go out to happy-hour maybe once or twice a year. I enjoy laughing at my crazy-behind nephews! Messing around on the computer putting together home-made videos to music. Another passion I have is sluething, investigative stuff (getting into people bizzness & bringing out the skeletons)...Lol. I want to learn how to build computers; and I want to eventually get into remodeling homes one day. Doing anything that will improve my situation. Therefore, my #1 focus in my life....getting better acquainted with....My Lord & Savior and being the best Saint I can be!! Yes...that's right--I am there!

Favorite Music: Old School & New Skool, R&B / Hip-Hop / Rap, Classic Soul, Easy Listening (sometimes), and definitely gospel. Artists such as the ultimate sexy crooner--Keith Sweat!! Beyonce' and Alicia Keys, Luther, Babyface, and of course 50 Cent, Lloyd Bank and Buck!!!!! And can't forget Keyshia Cole.

Favorite Movies: Soul Food, Baby Boy, The Temptations, Love & Basketball, Higher Learning, Boyz N Tha Hood, Friday, Menace II Society, Good Fellas, Casino, Scarface, Juice, Poetic Justice, Gang Related, Dead Presidents, All About The Benjamins, Waiting 2 Exhale, Roots, Color Purple, Belly, Claudine, Disappearing Acts, All Denzel Washington's movies, The Rose (believe it or not), Malcom X, Waist Deep, Life (w/Martin L. & Eddie M.), This Xmas with Chris Brown, Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married, any movie with 50 Cent...LOL!

Favorite Television: The First 48 on A&E, Cops & Americas Most Wanted, Judge Mathis & other court tv, Maury's paternity test shows are hilarious, The Wire (on HBO), Food Network Channel, Good Morning America, All of Us, a couple of Reality Shows, Deal or No Deal, Martin Lawrence re-runs, ComicView, American Justice

Favorite Books: Triple Crown Publications, Too many to list or even remember. And the best book of all...The Bible!
