Ireturned to Syracuse from VA on the 10th of this month. When I got off 81N at Exit 16, and tried to turn onto my street, I was unable to as the police had the entire between Salina and Midland Aves blocked off. They would not let me drive down the street to my house. Apparently, some kid stole a Lincoln Navigator from American Car Rental in North Syracuse. He put a gun to the head of the employee who was showing him the car, and forced him out of the car. Cops caught up with this kid on 81S and chased him to the same exit 16; he then hit a cop, who got out of his vehicle,at Salina and Calthrop, then they chased him down Calthrop, he lost control of the Navigator, got out and started shooting at the cops. Cops end up shooting him in this legs and hand. This all happened approximately two hours before I reached Syracuse at 5:25 pm. I had to leave my car down the street and around the corner for the night. I didn't get the car to my driveway until the next day about 10:30 am. That was very aggrevating!!
Hospice has since been set up come in and care for my brother....which we all know what that means! Prior to going to VA the beginning of this month, I and my daughter rejoined People's AME Zion, as I had been wanting to do so for some time. I figured now is a better time than any.

Last weekI finished my second semester at ITT. I managed toget thru the finals after returning from VA. I did not do great on the final exams, but because Isubmit all my homework, particiate in class, and my attendance is very good, my grades for the semester were all 95+.

Since the last entry, my brother went home from the hospital, but now he is back in again! He is very very weak. His legs are swelling. His doctor is saying that it is just a matter of time...he does not have long at all. He can't even talk to me on the phone. I need to get there to see him but I don't have the money to do so right now. I hope by the time I do, it will not be too late.

Second semester seems to be going okay, except that I think I may end up taking time off because my brother is very sick, back in the hospital, and it's not looking too good.

Im actually managing to get through the first semester of math. I only have 4 assignments that I have to submit by this Friday. Thank God there was no final exam. I got a 83 on my final exam for Intro to Computers. I do not know yet what my final grade is for Strategies for Technical Professional, but I do know I passed; grade should be 90+.

Im still trying to hang with the math at ITT. Signed up for tutoring; really want to put forth the effort. Don't want to throw the money out the window! Oh, wanted to also mention that "M" stopped by last week on his own, and drop a little cash on his daughter. I thought that was nice. Claims he's going to do it more often...well, we will see.

I am caught up in all my classes but "Problem Solving", which is math...I need a tutor. But at least there is no final for this class. I was told as long as you do the classroom assignments, homework, and show up to class, you will pass. That was good news!!

OMG!! I started ITTT on Friday, Sept. 13, 2006. They told me that I would not have any problem catching up on the 3 days of classes I missed, as I started the semester a week late. Pssst!! WELL....they covered a "lot" in the three days, and I am just starting and there are projects that are already due!! Now, I have to keep up with the current activities as well as read and do the stuff I missed. The Problem Solving math class was waaay over my head. I got some of it "in class" but by the time I got home to transfer my notes, I was lost. I am really nervous about this CET program. I am going to need a lot of coaching and moral support, as I have not been in school since 1985. I ran into my next door neighbor who is enrolled in a media course; he's been there over a year now. He told me that when he started there was about 150 approximately in his graduating class, and about 40% of them dropped out after the first semester. Not what I needed to hear!

Yesterday, the 12th of September, I went to enroll in school. I passed the admissions test, I'm told, "with flying colors". Got a thumbs up with the head admissions person there. Now I have to get financed...aawg! This is the stressing part. I initially was going to start after Thanksgiving, but the admissions person (Kevin) and the financial aid person (Stever) is pushing for me to start now....I don't think that is going to happen. I think they are playing a little game with me a bit. First Kevin tells me that the only C & ET course that is available now is T,W and Th 6 pm to 10:30 for the Nov start. But then once I said if they could get me registered and financed for this semester, I would start now, but that I would rather have day classes....then....all of a sudden there was a M&F or T&F from 8 to 3:30pm available for days. I think their day classes are full, and they are trying to fill the evening classes, and they were trying to steer my for the evening classes. But I want the day classes, as I have a child and would like to be at home with her in the evenings, to make sure she is doing what she is expected to do (i.e. chores & homework).

"M" stepped up wonderfully recently, therefore, I went on Tuesday, 9/5/06 and withdrew the V.O.S.O. I hope he keeps it up! I also hope he appreciates what I did.

Tracee had a very nice Labor Day of Monday. She hung out with her father and brother at the NY State Fair; she enjoyed that tremendously. She is really enjoying every bit of attention she is getting from him and his family.

    TRACE's Interests:

About Me: Myself and my brother were both born in Los Angeles and Compton, but raised in New York. Both my sisters were born here in New York. I have a 14 y.o. daughter, soon to be 15, born 1 day b4 my b-day & we share the same name but spelt differently; we are 30 years apart in age!! I am not with her father, but we "try" to be civil. I am graduating this Saturday from ITT Tech; getting my 2nd Associates Degree. And I am now considering taking an online course to get a bachelor's degree in Construction Management. I have a sister that lives in VA, and I recently lost my brother to cancer. He was 11 months older than me. I lost an older sister back in 1977 to kidney disease (she was 17 when she passed); 11 months before that we lost our dearest grandmother very tragically. My dad lives in VA, and I live in NY with my mom, as I have to keep an eye on her. she is getting up there in age--driving me nuts....Lol. I like a little innocent gossip every now & again...but you didn't hear that from me!! And I am very opinionated and trying to learn to control that...Lol...I'm laughin cause...it ain't workin out! As you can tell...I like a good laugh but I know how and when to be serious. I am so serious when it comes to my daughter & two nephews. I am a strong woman (very thick skin) but can be sensitive at times. My most embarrassing moment: I'll just say...putting my foot in my mouth (done that a couple of times). Remember I am opinionated!! I really have to concentrate on learning that less is best! People I miss dearly: Toni & Dee, Grandma Emily & Grandma Lela; my girl cousins that always looked out fo' me--Lisa, Gail, Natalie...and so many more family members...R.I.P. yall. There is one other person I miss with all my heart....but I refuse to speak on it!!!! That is my story and I am sticking to it....LOL!

Interests: I like to go see a good movie, take my daughter out and treat her to lunch or dinner, or a little shopping spree when I can. I like to go out to happy-hour maybe once or twice a year. I enjoy laughing at my crazy-behind nephews! Messing around on the computer putting together home-made videos to music. Another passion I have is sluething, investigative stuff (getting into people bizzness & bringing out the skeletons)...Lol. I want to learn how to build computers; and I want to eventually get into remodeling homes one day. Doing anything that will improve my situation. Therefore, my #1 focus in my life....getting better acquainted with....My Lord & Savior and being the best Saint I can be!! Yes...that's right--I am there!

Favorite Music: Old School & New Skool, R&B / Hip-Hop / Rap, Classic Soul, Easy Listening (sometimes), and definitely gospel. Artists such as the ultimate sexy crooner--Keith Sweat!! Beyonce' and Alicia Keys, Luther, Babyface, and of course 50 Cent, Lloyd Bank and Buck!!!!! And can't forget Keyshia Cole.

Favorite Movies: Soul Food, Baby Boy, The Temptations, Love & Basketball, Higher Learning, Boyz N Tha Hood, Friday, Menace II Society, Good Fellas, Casino, Scarface, Juice, Poetic Justice, Gang Related, Dead Presidents, All About The Benjamins, Waiting 2 Exhale, Roots, Color Purple, Belly, Claudine, Disappearing Acts, All Denzel Washington's movies, The Rose (believe it or not), Malcom X, Waist Deep, Life (w/Martin L. & Eddie M.), This Xmas with Chris Brown, Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married, any movie with 50 Cent...LOL!

Favorite Television: The First 48 on A&E, Cops & Americas Most Wanted, Judge Mathis & other court tv, Maury's paternity test shows are hilarious, The Wire (on HBO), Food Network Channel, Good Morning America, All of Us, a couple of Reality Shows, Deal or No Deal, Martin Lawrence re-runs, ComicView, American Justice

Favorite Books: Triple Crown Publications, Too many to list or even remember. And the best book of all...The Bible!
