My son has convinced me to let him take laser safety training classes. He found a really good one for a decent price but I'm just worried about all of the extra expenses that go in to it after he is done with the class. His hope is to use what he learns some day in the workforce. I figured I can't go wrong as long as he has the proper training. But now he needs Laser safety glasses, safety barriers and he mentioned something about a laser safety window. I don't need to have all this in the home do I? I guess he could always use the storage space in the garage. But what do I know, he will soon be the expert.

Looking back on my life in an old age I think I would be most happy about getting my education and starting a loving family. You really can't ask for more than that.

My friend just got his garage floor coated. A great idea for living in MN because now he can use it for more than just a parking space. He used a company in Minneapolis called garage floor coating of MN. Anyone heard of them? I hate to trust review sites, it seems like some people just don't have anything better to do than to rip on reputable companies. I want to get my basement floor coated and I'd love to hear any info. or other suggestions someone might have.

Fireplace options

My goal is to put a new fireplace in my living room this winter. I was hoping to get it in before the snow was flying but I finally have enough saved up so I thought I'd make it a new year's resolution that I have to commit to. There are a lot of options to consider when putting in a new fireplace. I don't know if I'd be better off choosing one of the may wood stoves, gas stove, or gas fireplace inserts. Then there are many things to consider once you choose the right stove; like gas logs or wood pellet stoves.

If anyone can share their do's and don'ts about this process it would be much appreciated. I have heard from friends that there is a lot that can go wrong with a new fireplace including a huge heating bill that will follow if it isn't installed properly.

goodbye...

Yes it's goodbye...to my car. Sold the lancer today and it was a bittersweet sale - good because I've got a lovely new (well new to me) larger car with lots of room for all the bags I have to carry around these days, but also a bit sad to farewell the only brand new car I'll ever own! Am definitely feeling a bit sentimental about it...hopefully that will change when I bank the cheque tomorrow...
Had a nice quiet day at home with the kids today - hubby off to Melbourne for a wedding so we just chilled out - literally - had the air-con on all day as it was about 40 degrees!

12/31/12 Last day of year. I am feeling pretty good but not sleeping very well. I am on 7.5 mg Pred now and on 2nd round of TOBI. Mom is weak and does not have much of an appetite and has eye surgery in 2 weeks. Randy and April were here for 2 days following Christmas and I love having them around.. We took Darren shooting just before Christmas and that was fun. We got new cell phones before Christmas, so only a gift certificate and $50 from Mom for presents, but that is okay with me. I gave thee $50 to April since they were in an accident on the way up here and she owes $500. I wish I could help her more. I am so proud of my grandchildren. They are all great. Prices are rising but God provides. I finally passed my Textbroker test. That was great news. Andy got a job, so that is good also. Steven seems to be selling a little more now. It has been a tough couple of years for him, but I think things are going to be better this year. Steve and I have lost weight and feeling great about that. Steve gets 25 year chip Friday. Quite an accomplishment! 2013 will be a good year!
