Infinity and Change

Today, I was thinking about "this" - first, "we" thought the world was "flat" and the Sun(s) and other Planets were circling around our Earth Planet. Now, "we" know now that it wasn't that way - change came about when "we" were able to think better about things! Maybe, this crazy Earth Planet, with it's humans, is just starting to get into the "fast" lane to the future!

I Wonder!

http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/a-visit-with-the-real-dwight-eisenhower/2012/04/09/gIQAG4Pu6S_story.html?wpisrc=nl_opinions

Today, I look back at the General, and WWII in "Europe", and Hitler, and Stalin, and Mussolini, and some of the "Generals" from both sides - and then there was the "Pacific", which was just as bad for many folks too - and I "wonder" about "things" in my own mind! The Old Goat

Dear Reader,

The Old Goat knows about this - another "tricky", "dishonest" way that some "others" slowly changed what FDR's "Social Security" was trying to be! If you want to know about the details, and have the time - just look into "history"! It's another example of how "we" haven't really started with "civilized" human social interaction yet - HOPE IT WILL START SOON, so I can look at it too!

Not Yet Civilized

Good Morning, I have been thinking, (again!) - about the "flaws" in the "minds" of many "folks", from the "past", through the "present", and "probably" into the "future"! This article is just an "example" of how "civilized" thinking - just is not yet "civilized"! The Old Goat

CHANGE!

Good Morning,

I have known about many folks, from many years back - that have decided to do change "something" for the better!

Try or Fail

Tonight,

Within my 81 years, I know about the many wars and atrocities - and the numerous "others" back to the "caveman" years! "We" have gone ahead with "somethings", but not for "social humans" in our Earth Planet - civilization needs to try harder with "our" lives in order to get "civilized" better! It's up to "each person" to "choose" - TRY or FAIL! Nobody else can do it for you - JUST "YOU", AND "SOME" OTHERS! I hope there will be MORE - we need them!

Conservative vs. Progressive vs. Freedome - Deserving It!

Today, It's interesting, for me to think about conservative vs. progressive thinking, because when "you" are in the "middle" of it, you will probably "swing" back and forth between "thoughtful" stuff, from different folks! Sometimes, you "need" to be more conservative, sometimes, you "can" be more progressive. But, within that "thinking", you need to remember about "freedom" - WHICH IS ONLY FOR THOSE FOLKS THAT DESERVE IT! "Free" does not mean that you can be BAD, and get a "pass" without deserving it! At this moment in a "early" stage of "civilization" I find that as long as there are TOO many "BAD FOLKS" on our Earth Planet, "we" just must be "collared" until "we" DESERVE it! That's what CIVILIZATION is about - GETTING CIVILIZED! WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THIS? - From The Old Goat

PLEASE, TAKE A MOMENT, This morning, I was reminded about "War", "Hate", "Selfishness", and "Many Other Things" that have "NOT" changed, regardless of civilized "rungs" that "we" have tried to go towards for a better future for everyone in our Earth Planet! Fallacy

Fallacy From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (Redirected from Logical fallacy) Jump to: navigation, search This article has multiple issues. Please help improve it or discuss these issues on the talk page. It needs additional citations for verification. Tagged since August 2010. It may need to be rewritten entirely to comply with Wikipedia's quality standards. Tagged since August 2010. It may contain original research. Tagged since August 2010. In logic and rhetoric, a fallacy is usually an improper argumentation in reasoning often resulting in a misconception or presumption. Literally, a fallacy is "an error in reasoning that renders an argument logically invalid".[1] By accident or design, fallacies may exploit emotional triggers in the listener or participant (appeal to emotion), or take advantage of social relationships between people (e.g. argument from authority). Fallacious arguments are often structured using rhetorical patterns that obscure any logical argument. Though an argument is not "logically valid", it is not necessarily the case that the conclusion is incorrect. It simply means that the conclusion cannot be arrived at using that argument. *Though often used unintentionally, fallacies can be used purposefully to win arguments regardless of the merits. Among such devices, discussed in more detail below, are: "ignoring the question" to divert argument to unrelated issues using a red herring, making the argument personal (argumentum ad hominem) and discrediting the opposition's character, "begging the question" (petitio principi), the use of the non-sequitur, false cause and effect (post hoc ergo propter hoc), bandwagoning (everyone says so), the "false dilemma" or "either-or fallacy" in which the situation is oversimplified, "card-stacking" or selective use of facts, and "false analogy". Another favorite device is the "false generalization", an abstraction of the argument that shifts discussion to platitudes where the facts of the matter are lost. There are many, many more tricks to divert attention from careful exploration of a subject.[2] Fallacies can generally be classified as informal (premises fail to support the proposed conclusion, but the argument is structured properly) or formal (logical structure is flawed).

If "we" have enough "good" thinking in our Earth Planet - "we" could get started with "real" civilization, WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THAT?

Cycles

Dear Reader,

Today, we have a good "thinking" article - about "cycles"! But, it isn't just economics, it's about many other parts of our Earth Planet that have still not worked through the "problems" and the "solutions"! Most folks want "short" answers, so they can go back to their own, narrow, "slice" of the "pie"!

Well, they are not about "short", they are about "long" answer(s) to solutions that "cut" the "cycles" - so we can really get forward towards the better future that everyone wants!

Let's TRY, again - perhaps "we" just need to "scan" further to get where we need to get!

Civilization

Tonight,

Most folks seem to just focus into the "present" - for me, the focus seems to be from centuries back, through the present, and on to what might be the future - centuries forward! I feel like "we" are just starting to be more civilized, that we have a lot of centuries to go before actually getting into real, civilized, better living for everyone!

Still, I feel OK about where we are going - because, down deep within each person, there are some "truths" - like choices -"good vs. bad" thinking amongst many others! It will be the individuals, folks like "you" and "me", that make the civilization happen, with their own small shoulders inching into the future!

Please, don't get unhappy about this stuff - just try again. It eventually will work out in the future - even though "you" and "me" may have "cut out of our own lives"!

Do Not Be So Sure!

Tonight, I'm thinking again about racial thinking, and all that goes with it! "Color" stands out, BUT, "religious" thinking, "political" thinking, "national' thinking, 'territory' thinking, "conservative" thinking, "progressive" thinking - and on, and on, and on, seems to be a bigger problem than just "black" vs. "white"! Some folks seem to understand that when we really, really, don't know, "we" need to try to figure things out as best as "we" can - sort of like the "middle" ground, where "we" don't have all the answers! Out in the MORE "conservative" or "progressive" thinking, some folks seem to be too sure about there "answers"! "We" have a great distance to go before we get closer to being civilized! -- Take care, Papa Foote, The Old Goat
