Life in Dubai of International Students: Laws for Academic Integrity

• Regularity: Students must follow the university guidelines properly and engage with their studies, as their attendance and academic performance are tracked by the university.�

• Student Visa: International students need to secure a Student Visa, which is sponsored by the university. Students need to renew their Visas annually, depending on their course.
• Documents: Students must possess a Valid Passport, University Acceptance Letter, Proof of Funds (30,000 AED), Fitness Certificate, and Health Insurance.
• Arrival Formalities:�Upon arrival, international students need to visit the university's visa office within 3 days to start their medical fitness test and biometric registration.
• Emirates ID:�Students will get their passport back with the visa, followed by mandatory Emirates ID in a fortnight.
• Visa & ID Compliance:�International students must keep their visa and ID with them carefully, and immediately inform authorities if there is any change in their university, program, or address.
• Exceeding Visa Duration:�They should never exceed visa duration.

• Dress Code: Dubai enforces a dress code, which students need to strictly follow.
• Public Behaviour: While in public, students must avoid disruptive behaviour and excessive noise.
• Respect for Local Customs: The culture in Dubai is marvellous, showcasing centuries of deep-rooted Islamic beauty, which students need to be respectful of.
• Social Media: Just like in public, students must be thoughtful of their behaviour online, especially on social media.
• Restrict Use of Left Hand: The left hand is considered dirty in the Arab culture, so students are advised not to use it in public.
• Photography Laws: Although landmarks such as the Burj Khalifa can be photographed, the laws strictly prohibit taking pictures of individuals, government buildings etc.
