    About Me: retired teacher--I've taught 27 years, mostly primary grades & mostly overseas-- I love the 6 & 7 year old eyes light up when they master/discover something new. First & Second (sometimes Third) graders aren't afraid to show their emotions; feelings; excitement!

    Interests: Now that I'm retired, & completed "caregiving" of my parents [on their deaths] I'm picking up interests laid aside for years [& years!] STAMPCOLLECTING--I now have [have found] my childhood & young adult stamp albums & also my MOTHER'S childhood stamp album so I'm updating & combining the albums & "collecting" again. SCRAPBOOKING--I found a really good program with consultants [Creative Memories] that has really got me into scrapbooking BIG TIME!! I have scrapbooks/photo albums from my parents; both sets of grandparents; my childhood albums; my travel memorabilia/photos AND 27 years of classroom activities photos!!! This is keeping me busy & very interested. I've completed 13 albums with 4 in progress. READING--always a favorite activity; libraries are great institutions. I'm reading in my favorite genres & also exploring new areas of interest. SWIMMING--always my favorite sport [I was even an instructor as a teenager] now I go to the "Y" pool weekly-open swim and some water aerobics. WALKING--always a favorite activity [being a tourist is strenuous work!] Arthritis & genetics & age caused a lot of foot problems--that I've had taken care of this winter [3 major foot surgeries!] so next year I'll be back with lots of walking [without pain]

    Favorite Music: MUSIC--different kinds for different moods...

    Favorite Movies: MOVIES--love movies [on TV & DVD's; can't manage going to theaters-expense-any more] I enjoy Sci-Fi;family; mystery; romantic; comedy--probably everything except horror.

    Favorite Television: TV--of course movies, especially "old" movies--and since I lived overseas so many years I missed many American TV series. Now, with DVD's & Netflix I'm checking out lots of TV shows.

    Favorite Books: LIBRARIES [& large print] are great!! I read lots of old favorites & find new favorites.
